Britain's new cultural/political think tank, The New Culture Forum, tomorrow night, welcomes the founder of Migration Watch, Sir Andrew Green, who will lead a discussion on how and why immigration has become one of the top four issues of public concern.
Sir Andrew will be introduced by Douglas Carswell, MP for Harwich and Clacton.
Director of the New Culture Forum, Peter Whittle says “We are delighted to have Sir Andrew Green to lead this debate.
“Migration Watch has played a key role in getting the subject of immigration onto the national agenda. Seven years ago the issue hardly registered in the public opinion polls. Now it is high up in the public awareness, and Sir Andrew will be considering what underlies this remarkable development.”
"I want to explore the claim that concern about immigration is all due to the "tabloid press", says Sir Andrew. 'I think it simply doesn't stand up to examination. The reality is that the public have much more common sense than the government give them credit for."
